Esther, una inmigrante embarazada, llega ilegalmente a Puerto Rico y se convierte en el blanco de las autoridades. Durante su huida, conoce a Arcadio, un hombre con limitaciones intelectuales, pero con un corazón tan grande como la isla misma. Juntos emprenden una odisea de un extremo de Puerto Rico al otro con el propósito de llegar a la casa de la tía de Esther en San Juan antes de que nazca el bebé. Perseguidos por la policía, mientras la gobernadora utiliza su historia para ganar popularidad, Esther y Arcadio deberán superar situaciones disparatadas que, minuto a minuto, dan forma a su singular amistad y a su turbulento y humorístico recorrido por la isla.

Esther, a pregnant immigrant, illegally arrives in Puerto Rico and becomes the target of the authorities. During her escape, she encounters Arcadio, a man with intellectual limitations but a heart as vast as the island itself. Together, they embark on an odyssey from one end of Puerto Rico to the other, hoping to reach Esther’s aunt’s house in San Juan before the baby is born. Pursued by the police, while the governor uses their story to gain popularity, Esther and Arcadio must overcome ludicrous situations that, minute by minute, shape their unique friendship and their turbulent and humorous journey across the island.
